BONSERNEWS.com – Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian People’s Wave Party (Gelora) Fahri Hamzah criticized presidential candidate (candidate) Anies Baswedan and the Nasdem Party, for being too quick to stir up elements of contention in the public. This is because the politics of ideas is considered to be unimportant, because it puts forward the politics of feelings.

“The raising of these elements makes the fights escalate irrationally. This is because in every argument that is irrational, ideas are usually not considered important, but feelings are considered more important,” said Fahri Hamzah, Monday, July 24, 2023.

This was conveyed by Fahri Hamzah in response to the results of Gelora Petamaya’s digital research which photographed the ideas of three presidential candidates (bacapres) at the Indonesian City Government Association (APEKSI) National Working Meeting which took place in Makassar, South Sulawesi on 12-14 July 2023.

According to Fahri Hamzah, if there are presidential candidates who still rely on the politics of feelings, then we will never get good leaders.

“This is the time to move on, we reconcile and we build the middle power. Building the middle power, have a new dream for Indonesia, namely to make Indonesia the world’s new super power,” he said.

With reconciliation and this middle way politics, continued Fahri, it will make Indonesia strong in the future, because everyone is united to build Indonesia.

“We agree with the idea. If the idea is carried forward, the Gelora Party is ready to voice that Indonesia still needs negotiations, because the crisis is not over yet. If we don’t unite, it is very dangerous, let alone be used as a basis for fighting,” he said.

Fahri assessed that of the three presidential candidates currently, Prabowo Subianto is the most likely to become a middle ground figure, not Ganjar Pranowo or Anies Baswedan.

Especially now that Prabowo has become part of the Govt Indonesia Cabinet government which prioritizes national reconciliation. So all that remains is to continue the reconciliation efforts that have been carried out by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

“Pak Prabowo has actually been fighting for a long time, you know when we were still in the field. We have heard that Pak Prabowo has different opinions from the New Order. In my opinion, his speeches from the past were extraordinary. He wanted all parties to be instruments of democracy. As soon as he retired he made a party and was so loyal to him on the path of political parties, and was once in the opposition,” he said. ()
