BONSERNEWS.com – Deputy Speaker of the MPR Hidayat Nur Wahid, appreciated the Government’s statement through the Deputy Minister of Religion, so that Muslims prioritize tolerance and mutual respect regarding differences in the determination of Eid al-Adha 1444H.

In fact, the government decided not only June 29, but also June 28 as collective leave.

Therefore HNW also appealed to the Regional Government to facilitate the implementation of the Eid al-Adha prayer for Muhammadiyah members etc., who are holding the Eid al-Adha 1444H prayer on June 28, 2023, even though it is different from the Government’s stipulation.

HNW, as he is familiarly called, reminded this so that the invitation to be tolerant of differences in the Eid al-Adha holidays put forward by the Ministry of Religion can be carried out properly by elements of the Regional Government.

In order not to repeat the polemic that had disturbed the harmony, it was reported that at first there were several regional governments who did not approve of the facilitation of the ummah who wanted to hold the Eid Al-Fithri 1444H prayer, even though it was finally facilitated.

“So that this time, Muhammadiyah members etc. who will pray Eid al-Adha on a different date with the Government’s decision, can still be facilitated in a fair way as the facilities provided to people who pray Eid al-Adha use the Government’s decision. Don’t let any more regional governments block or make it difficult for permits,” said Hidayat in a written statement in Jakarta, Wednesday 21 June 2023.

At a press conference for the initial determination of Dzulhijah, Sunday 18 June, the Government announced that 1 Dzulhijah 1444 H falls on Tuesday (20/6), so that Eid al-Adha in Indonesia falls on Thursday (29/6/2023).

Meanwhile, PP Muhammadiyah through the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership Notice Number 1/MLM/I.0/E/2023 had set Eid al-Adha to fall on Wednesday (28/6).

Article 29 paragraph (2) of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia clearly states that the State guarantees the freedom of every citizen to worship according to their religion. Of course, this includes guarantees for those who differ in the determination of holidays, because these differences are normal and are recognized in Islam,” he continued.

Even though there are differences in the determination of holidays, Hidayat, who is a member of the DPR-RI from the PKS faction, also appreciates the Government’s policy of adding joint days off, namely for Wednesday (28/6) and Friday (30/6).

According to him, the policy issued through the SKB 3 Ministers is very accommodating for Muslims who hold Eid al-Adha prayers on Wednesdays.

“Alhamdulillah, the government has decided to take the holiday, it remains only to implement the provision of facilities and ease of licensing for the Eid al-Adha prayer places, which must be ensured that there are no obstacles throughout Indonesia. “So that precisely in the political year, Eid al-Kurban 1444H can truly be a moment to distance anxiety and turmoil, and can even be an effective means of strengthening ukhuwah and brotherhood orientation in differences, so as to bring happiness and togetherness for all among fellow Indonesian citizens,” he concluded.
