Ahead of the 2024 Election, the National Police will Reactivate the Archipelago Task Force

BONSERNEWS.com – The National Police will reactivate the Task Force or the Archipelago Task Force to oversee the implementation of the upcoming 2024 election agenda.

Kadiv Humas Polri Inspector General Sandi Nugroho said the Task Force would be tasked with preventing polarization and eradicating hoaxes in the process of all 2024 elections.

Sandi added that at this time the Nusantara Task Force activation meeting had been held and was just waiting for the administrative process.

“The administration for the sprin (order) for the implementation of the Nusantara Task Force is so that it can become a cooling system in preparation for the 2024 elections,” he said, Friday 7 July 2023.

Sandi did not explain in detail about the targets and working methods of the Task Force that will be re-formed.

Nevertheless, he said that later the Archipelago Task Force would cooperate with all stakeholders in realizing peaceful elections in the upcoming political contestation.

“The National Police will work with all relevant stakeholders and all components of society in order to create peaceful elections for Indonesia to go even further,” said the two-star general.

For information, the National Police National Police Task Force had previously been formed in order to secure the country’s situation during the 2018 Pilkada and 2019 Presidential Election.

At that time, the Nusantara Task Force was led by Gatot Eddy Pramono, who later became Deputy Chief of Police before retiring at the end of June 2023. ()
