BONSERNEWS.com – The National Mandate Party (PAN) emphasized that it will not lose for the third time or hat trick in the upcoming 2024 general election and presidential election. They are ready to determine the direction of the coalition and support for the presidential candidate in the near future.

“PAN doesn’t want to lose a hat trick. In the 2024 presidential election, PAN aspires to be able to win the candidate together with the coalition parties,” said PAN Waketum Viva Yoga Mauladi, Friday, June 23, 2023.

For information, in the last two presidential elections, namely 2014 and 2019, PAN was in a coalition of losing candidates. In the 2014 presidential election, PAN was in the Red and White coalition that carried Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa. Then in the 2019 Presidential Election, PAN was in the Adil Makmur Coalition which carried Prabowo-Sandiaga Uno.

So far ahead of 2024, PAN was previously known to be in the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) with Golkar and PPP. However, the future of the coalition is still bleak, especially after PPP announced that it would nominate PDIP cadre Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate, and there was talk of a permanent coalition merging KIB with the Gerindra-PKB Coalition (Coalition for the Greater Indonesia Awakening/KKIR) which carried Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate.

However, Viva claims, in fact PAN has yet to officially determine the direction of the coalition and support for a presidential candidate in 2024. He said that his party’s stance would be officially announced by the General Chair of PAN, Zulkifli Hasan in the next few weeks.

He asked all parties to be patient because the presidential candidate registration period at the KPU still has four months left until October. According to Viva, the current political dynamics are still running smoothly.

“There are still four months to go. Now the situation is still dynamic and productive. There will be a permanent axis of cooperation or political coalition in the 2024 presidential election,” he said.

Viva explained that his party is currently still open to communication with a number of parties. Both with Gerindra which carries Prabowo Subianto, as well as with PDIP which carries Ganjar Pranowo.

However, his party emphasized that PAN will form a coalition with the current government coalition party.

“PAN also communicates intensively with PPP and PDIP. The principles in collaborating or in coalition are, first, PAN will cooperate with the government coalition political parties,” said Viva. ()
