BONSERNEWS.com – PDI P DPP Chairperson Puan Maharani finally met with Democratic Party General Chair Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) at Plataran Forest, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Senayan, Jakarta today, Sunday (18/6/2023).
It marks a reconciliation of two parties that have been at odds for nearly 20 years.
Not only Puan Maharani and AHY, this morning’s meeting was also attended by a number of elites from both parties.

Several figures from the two parties who attended were PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto, Democrat Secretary General Teuku Riefky Harsya, PDI-P Bappilu DPP Chairman Bambang Pacul, and member of the Democratic Upper Council Syarief Hasan.
Executive Director of the Institute for Democracy and Strategic Affairs (Indostrategic) Ahmad Khoirul Umam said the spirit of reconciliation from this meeting opened a new chapter in the national political constellation going forward.
According to him, the PDI-P’s zig-zag strategy indicated the maturity of Puan Maharani’s political model trying to expand her cooperation.

“In Puan’s hands, political steps that were considered impossible have now become possible,” said Umam.
This meeting also emphasized that in politics, anything is possible. He said democracy was no longer overshadowed by the politics of hatred in the hands of young political leaders, such as Puan Maharani and AHY.
“In the midst of young political leaders like Puan and AHY, the politics of reconciliation, which is very productive for the maturity of Indonesian democracy, can actually be realized,” he said.
