After going through an in-depth study, the MPR will try to include PPHN through the amendment to the 1945 Constitution

BONSERNEWS.com – The People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) is still discussing the possibility of including the Principles of State Policy (PPHN) like the General Guidelines for State Policy (GBHN) through limited amendments to the 1945 Constitution.
MPR Chairman Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet) claimed that the discourse on returning PPHN had gone through an in-depth study.
“Regarding this amendment, the MPR has conducted a long in-depth study to restore PPHN. Since the time of Pak Taufik Kiemas, the recommendation has fallen to Pak Zulkifli Hasan, and now it is our period,” said Bamsoet, Tuesday 11 July 2023.

He is of the opinion that the presence of PPHN can clarify long-term development plans even if the government changes. According to the Golkar politician, PPHN will make development sustainable.
Bamsoet explained that the MPR is currently reviewing and looking for the right moment to make an amendment. He also said there was no time limit.

“Yes, the name refers to political momentum, there is no time limit. We are looking at the gaps and opportunities,” he said.
Bamsoet ensured that if the 1945 Constitution were to be amended, then the DPD’s proposal would also be accommodated.
The issue of imposing PPHN through amendments to the Constitution has been sticking out for some time. However, the issue has arisen and sunk.
Many people worry that the amendments to the 1945 Constitution will extend to other things, such as extending the term of office of the president. ()
