Government to Muhammadiyah on Sacrifice: Let’s Be Compact!

BONSERNEWS.com – Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy performs Eid al-Adha 1444 H prayers at the At Tanwir Muhammadiyah Mosque, Menteng, Central Jakarta. Muhadjir advised the Muhammadiyah congregation to slaughter the sacrificial animals tomorrow.
“I suggest those who are praying Eid al-Adha today not to immediately slaughter the qurban. So it is better to slaughter the qurban tomorrow together with our brothers and sisters who will carry out the Eid al-Adha prayer tomorrow, so that it will be more compact,” said Muhadjir, Wednesday 28 June 2023.
Muhadjir asked to respect each other even though the Eid al-Adha 2023 prayers are on different days. According to him, these differences have become commonplace.

“I think Eid al-Adha today will run smoothly and those who will carry out Eid al-Adha tomorrow we are used to tolerant differences,” he said.
Even though Eid al-Adha 2023 is different, Muhadjir said the most important thing is to remain brothers. He invited mutual respect among fellow religious people.

“Each of them has arguments both in terms of sharia and scientifically, so there is no need to contest it. What is important is that we continue to cultivate the spirit of brotherhood of Islamic ukhuwah, ukhuwah watoniah as a nation and as a country, that is what is important,” he said.
Furthermore, Muhadjir himself admitted to holding the Eid al-Adha prayer at the At Tanwir Muhammadiyah Mosque because it was closer. According to him, for the Eid prayer he did not want to be a khatib.
“Yes, it’s close, and this is the PP Muhammadiyah office, so it’s easy. But I really try to be a good congregation on Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr. So usually I don’t want to be a preacher, I want to listen to his sermons every once in a while,” he added.
For information, there is a difference in the determination of Eid al-Adha 1444 H or 2023. Muhammadiyah first decided that Eid al-Adha would fall on Wednesday (28/6) today.
Meanwhile, the government through an isbat meeting held at the Ministry of Religion some time ago determined that 10 Dzulhijjah 1444 H falls on Thursday (29/6) tomorrow. ()
