1. Eid al-Adha Holiday 2023 SKB Version

In the SKB 3 Ministers, Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri or 2023 falls on Thursday, 29 June 2023. The SKB also ensures that there will be no holidays with Eid al-Adha.

That means, the Eid al-Adha 2023 holiday is only one day, namely June 29, 2023.

2. Government version of Eid al-Adha 2023 holiday

Regardless of the SKB 3 Ministers, the government will formalize the date of Eid al-Adha 2023 through an isbat meeting. The isbat meeting was held by the Ministry of Religion.

Muhammadiyah has set Eid al-Adha 2023 on Wednesday, 28 June 2023. This is based on the Notice number 1/MLM/I.0/E/2023 which was released by the Central Executive of Muhammadiyah. This decision is based on the criteria of Hisab Hakiki Wujudul Hilal.

“The 1st of Zulhijah 1444 H falls on Monday Legi, 19 June 2023 M. The day of Arafah (9 Zulhijah 1444 H) falls on Tuesday Wage, 27 June 2023 M. Eid al-Adha (10 Zulhijah 1444 H) falls on Wednesday Kliwon, June 28, 2023 AD,” stated the statement in the Declaration.

4. Muhammadiyah Proposes Eid al-Adha 2023 Holiday to be 2 Days

Quoted from, from the official Muhammadiyah website, General Secretary of PP Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu’ti proposed that the 2023 Eid al-Adha holiday be two days. Namely Wednesday, 28 June 2023 and Thursday, 29 June 2023.

According to Mu’ti, two days off are needed if there is a difference in the date of Eid al-Adha between Muhammadiyah and the Indonesian Ministry of Religion.

“So the two days off, namely the 28th or 29th of June 2023. I think the civil servants agree on that. This is a suggestion, Deputy Mayor, because there was once a Muhammadiyah member who became ASN did not take part in Eid (Eid al-Adha) because he had to go to the office ,” Mu’ti said.

5. There are alternatives for the Eid al-Adha 2023 holiday to be two days

The ministerial ranks of the Indonesia Maju Cabinet met to discuss an alternative to the Eid al-Adha holiday to two days. The option in question is holidays on June 28 and June 29 2023.
